Tuticorin Container Terminal (TCT) has successfully handled 500,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) since commencing operations in September 2024, marking a significant milestone in its growth journey within just two years.
The achievement reflects the terminal’s operational progress and its growing role in supporting containerised cargo movement through V.O. Chidambaranar Port in Tamil Nadu.
The terminal highlighted the contribution of its workforce, particularly women employees, who constitute a significant part of its workforce and hold leadership positions across various departments. Their dedication and commitment have played an important role in achieving this milestone.
Tuticorin Container Terminal expressed its gratitude to V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, vessel operators, shipping lines, customers and other external stakeholders for their continued support and trust.
Having crossed the 500,000 TEU mark, the terminal is looking ahead to greater milestones as it continues to strengthen its operations and contribute to the growth of container handling at Tuticorin.
