The Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) has reported a strong improvement in its financial performance for the second quarter of FY2026-27, with net profit more than tripling year-on-year and revenue registering a growth of over 70%.

The state-owned shipping major posted a net profit of ₹578 crore in Q2 FY27, compared with ₹189 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, marking an increase of approximately 206%.

Revenue from operations rose 71.1% to ₹2,291 crore during the quarter, against ₹1,338.8 crore in Q2 FY26, reflecting stronger business performance.

The company also recorded an expansion in its EBITDA margin, indicating an improvement in operating profitability. The tanker segment remained the largest contributor to the increase in segment revenue, highlighting its significant role in SCI’s overall performance.

In another key development, the company’s Board of Directors declared an interim dividend of ₹4 per equity share for FY2026-27, providing returns to shareholders.

The robust quarterly performance underscores SCI’s continued growth momentum and its strategic importance in India’s shipping and maritime trade sector. As a leading public sector shipping enterprise, SCI plays a vital role in supporting the country’s energy transportation and international trade requirements.
