    Hapag-Lloyd has announced a General Rate Increase (GRI) from the US West Coast to Indian Subcontinent and Middle East for cargo transported in 20’ and 40’ dry, reefer and special Containers, including high cube equipment.

    More specifically, the GRI will be implemented from the ports of Los Angeles, Long Beach and Oakland to the ports in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Iraq.

    This rate increase will be applicable to all containers gated in full from 1 December and will be valid until further notice.

    The German ocean carrier said the GRI will be US$150 per box.
