Crew transfer vessel operator Windcat, part of Saverys family-controlled CMB.TECH, has selected Hong Kong-based shipmanager Anglo-Eastern for the technical and crewing management of six commissioning service operation vessels (CSOVs) currently under construction at Dutch shipbuilder Damen Shipyards.
The partnership builds on the deal with Anglo-Eastern Technical Services (AETS), Anglo-Eastern’s technical consulting arm, in October 2021 to oversee the newbuilding program.
Windcat entered the CSOV segment after 20 years of developing its CTV business, which today counts nearly 60 units. The 87-m-long CSOVs of the so-called ‘Elevation Series’ will be built at the Ha Long Shipyard in Vietnam with the first delivery in 2025. The vessels will be powered by hydrogen dual-fuel engines and capable of accommodating 120 people on board.
