Challenge Group has completed its Boeing 767 conversion programme by deploying two newly converted Boeing 767-300 freighters, according to an official release from Challenge Group.
The addition of new freighters, registered as 9H-CAD and 9H-CAH, expands Challenge Group’s fleet of Boeing 767-300BDSF aircraft to four, bringing the total number of aircraft in operation to 10.
Each aircraft offers a cargo capacity of about 52 tonnes and 400 cubic metres, equipped with advanced features tailored for air cargo operations. Key enhancements include reinforced flooring, wide cargo doors for oversized shipments, and improved fuel efficiency,
making them suited for both short- and medium-haul routes, mentions the release.
The additional capacity facilitated the launch of a new service to Delhi in early October, complementing the three existing weekly flights to Mumbai. This brings the total to five weekly flights supporting India’s expanding industries, such as pharmaceuticals, textiles, automotive, electronics, and high-tech sectors. The introduction of these freighters also frees up space on the 747 aircraft, enabling more long-haul destinations and strengthening connectivity between Europe, the Far East, and the US, the release added.
