Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) is planning to develop a next-generation cargo village as part of its expansion strategy, aimed at strengthening cargo handling capacity and supporting the airport’s growing logistics operations.
The proposed cargo village is expected to provide modern infrastructure for cargo processing, storage and related logistics activities. The development will support more efficient handling of both domestic and international shipments and create additional capacity for future cargo growth.
The initiative comes as CIAL seeks to enhance its position as a key air cargo gateway for Kerala and the wider region. Improved cargo infrastructure is also expected to benefit exporters and logistics operators by streamlining cargo movement through the airport.
The planned facility is part of CIAL’s broader expansion programme, with the airport focusing on upgrading infrastructure and improving operational capabilities to meet rising passenger and cargo demand.
The next-generation cargo village is expected to incorporate modern logistics facilities and technology-driven processes, helping improve cargo handling efficiency and supporting the airport’s long-term growth plans.
