CMA CGM has unveiled a new weekly ocean service connecting Japan and South China with North Europe, strengthening its footprint on the key Asia–Europe trade lane.
The new loop, branded the Ocean Rise Express (OREX), is designed to provide direct, competitive transit times between major Japanese and South Chinese export hubs and leading European gateway ports. The move is aimed at addressing shifting capacity dynamics and filling service gaps on the east–west corridor.
According to the carrier, the weekly connection will call at strategic ports in Japan and South China before heading to North Europe, offering exporters improved schedule reliability and additional capacity options. The service is expected to benefit sectors such as automotive, machinery, electronics and retail, which rely heavily on consistent links between Asia and Europe.
CMA CGM said the new route reflects growing demand for diversified routings and enhanced resilience across global supply chains. The Asia–Europe trade remains one of the most important container corridors worldwide, and carriers continue to fine-tune networks in response to changing market conditions and customer requirements.
With the launch of the Ocean Rise Express, CMA CGM further reinforces its direct coverage between Northeast Asia and Europe while expanding service flexibility for shippers in Japan and South China.
