In a significant boost to India’s agri-export and cold chain logistics ecosystem, Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR) successfully facilitated the first-ever export movement of fresh Ladakh apricots from Kargil to international markets.

The export consignment was ceremonially flagged off by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Ladakh, Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena, at Ladakh Bhawan, New Delhi. The event was attended by A.K. Panda, Director (Projects & Services), CONCOR; Abhishek Dev, IAS, Chairman of APEDA; representatives of Fair Exports, government officials, media representatives, and other dignitaries.

CONCOR managed the complete end-to-end logistics for the consignment, ensuring seamless transportation from the farm gate in Kargil to Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, while maintaining uninterrupted cold chain integrity throughout the journey. The reefer truck deployed for the movement was monitored in real time by CONCOR’s dedicated team in close coordination with the Government of the Union Territory of Ladakh.

The consignment will now be exported to Gulf countries through Lulu Group, marking a major milestone in strengthening Ladakh’s agri-export supply chain and providing local fruit growers with direct access to international markets.

This pioneering shipment represents CONCOR’s first dedicated cold chain export movement from Ladakh and is expected to open new business opportunities for the company in India’s rapidly expanding temperature-controlled logistics sector.

Speaking on the occasion, A.K. Panda, Director (Projects & Services), CONCOR, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to strengthening India’s cold chain infrastructure through strategic interventions across the country to support the seamless movement of perishable agricultural produce.

Vineet Mathur, Executive Director (Corporate Coordination & Shipping), CONCOR, also attended the flag-off ceremony along with senior officials from the Government of the Union Territory of Ladakh.

CONCOR expressed its gratitude to the Government of the Union Territory of Ladakh, particularly Bhupesh Chaudhary, Secretary (Horticulture), for their support and cooperation in successfully executing the landmark export movement. The initiative is expected to pave the way for increased exports of high-value horticultural produce from the Himalayan region while enhancing farmers’ access to global markets.
