    India’s intralogistics manufacturing ecosystem achieved a significant milestone with the successful fabrication of a 30-metre automated stacker crane at Daifuku’s Hyderabad facility, underscoring the country’s growing capability to produce high-precision automation systems locally.

    The development marks a shift beyond conventional assembly operations, reflecting India’s emergence as a hub for advanced engineering and complex intralogistics equipment. The indigenously built stacker crane highlights increasing localisation in manufacturing, reduced dependence on imports, and the strengthening of domestic supply chains for automated warehousing solutions.

    Commenting on the achievement, Asim B., Chief Executive Officer, Daifuku Intralogistics India, said the project demonstrates the synergy between global technological expertise and Indian engineering talent. “It demonstrates how global expertise and Indian talent can come together to build advanced automation systems for the future of warehousing,” he said.

    Industry observers note that the milestone aligns with the broader push toward smart warehouses, automation-driven efficiency, and the ‘Make in India’ initiative. With demand for automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) rising across e-commerce, manufacturing, and logistics sectors, such capabilities position India as a competitive player in the global intralogistics value chain.

    The Hyderabad facility is expected to play a key role in supporting both domestic and export requirements, reinforcing India’s standing in next-generation warehouse automation manufacturing.
