Dakshin Bharat Gateway Terminal (DBGT) has further strengthened its international trade footprint by successfully handling an ad hoc call of container vessel MV CMA CGM Kailas, marking a significant milestone in global connectivity from India’s east coast.

The vessel arrived at DBGT, V.O. Chidambaranar (VOC) Port, Tuticorin, on 08 January 2026 at 2340 hours, during which around 600 TEUs were handled efficiently. MV CMA CGM Kailas subsequently sailed on 09 January 2026 at 0515 hours.

Importantly, this call established a direct onward sailing connection from DBGT to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and key Chinese ports, enhancing trade links between Africa, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and East Asia.

Port rotation of MV CMA CGM Kailas:
Port of Mtwara, Tanzania → Tuticorin (DBGT) → Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam → Shekou, China → Da Chan Bay, China.

With strong support from VOC Port Authority, DBGT continues to reinforce its role in facilitating EXIM trade and supporting the shipping fraternity. The successful handling of this international service underlines DBGT’s growing importance as a premier gateway for global commerce, contributing to regional economic development and deeper integration with global supply chains.
