Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co (DSIC) has secured a contract to build four 114,000 dwt LR2 product tankers—comprising two firm vessels and two optional units—for an undisclosed European shipowner.

The deal marks DSIC’s first major order of 2026, providing a strong start to the year and reinforcing the shipbuilder’s high-quality development momentum.

The vessels will be based on DSIC’s latest-generation, eco-friendly LR2 design. Measuring approximately 250 metres in length with a beam of 44 metres, the upgraded design delivers improved energy efficiency and enhanced operational performance. The tankers will also incorporate advanced maritime safety features and environmental protection systems, fully compliant with the latest standards set by leading oil companies.

Supported by mature mass-production capabilities, a proven delivery record, and continuous technological innovation, DSIC has established a strong competitive advantage in the 110,000 dwt tanker segment.

The latest order further strengthens DSIC’s position as a global leader in medium-to-large tanker construction. Following the contract signing, the company’s orderbook for 110,000 dwt product oil and crude oil carriers has expanded further, consolidating its status as the world’s top-ranked shipbuilder for this vessel category.

In 2026, DSIC will focus on constructing different main vessel types across its Dalian, Shanhaiguan and Tianjin shipbuilding bases.
