EDGE Group has signed a major airfreight agreement with Etihad Airways during MIITE 2026, marking a significant step toward strengthening global cargo and logistics operations for the UAE-based defence and technology conglomerate.

The agreement will see Etihad Airways provide dedicated airfreight support for EDGE Group’s international logistics requirements, including the movement of high-value equipment, defence systems, components, and time-sensitive cargo across key global markets. The partnership aims to enhance supply chain efficiency, improve cargo reliability, and expand logistics flexibility for the group’s growing international operations.

Officials from both organisations said the collaboration will leverage Etihad’s expanding cargo network and operational expertise to support EDGE Group’s global distribution and project requirements. The agreement is also expected to streamline freight handling processes while improving connectivity between the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Africa.

The deal was formalised at MIITE 2026, a major platform for defence, industrial, and technology cooperation, where logistics and supply chain resilience emerged as key focus areas amid rising global demand for secure and efficient transportation solutions.

Industry analysts noted that partnerships between aviation and defence-sector companies are becoming increasingly important as governments and industrial groups seek faster and more integrated logistics support for strategic cargo movements worldwide.

The agreement further strengthens Etihad Airways’ position in specialised air cargo services while supporting EDGE Group’s long-term plans to expand its global operational footprint and export capabilities.
