Gateway Distriparks Limited has reiterated the strategic importance of Andhra Pradesh in its overall business, with the state contributing around 8% of the company’s pan-India container volumes and nearly 11% of Snowman Logistics’ warehousing business. Speaking to Vizag Industrial Scan, Joint Managing Director Mr Samvid Gupta said Andhra Pradesh remains a key maritime and logistics hub on India’s east coast, supported by steady industrial growth and strong cargo potential.

The company operates a Container Freight Station in Visakhapatnam with an installed capacity of about 85,000 TEUs per annum, strategically located between Vizag and Gangavaram ports. Snowman Logistics, Gateway’s cold chain arm, has five warehouses in the state across Vizag and Krishnapatnam, serving over 100 customers and supporting both EXIM and domestic distribution, including the marine and seafood sector.

Commenting on the global shipping scenario, Mr Gupta said import demand into India remains robust despite muted export demand due to geopolitical uncertainties and softer markets in Europe and North America. Gateway Distriparks is open to evaluating opportunities for a rail-linked Inland Container Depot in Andhra Pradesh, while Snowman is assessing further cold storage expansion in Visakhapatnam and exploring Vijayawada, reaffirming the group’s long-term commitment to the state.
