Growing global acceptance of India-made vehicles is driving a sharp rise in automobile exports, with overseas buyers increasingly recognising the country as a reliable manufacturing hub for quality, cost-competitive vehicles.
Exports of passenger cars, two-wheelers and commercial vehicles have expanded across key markets in Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, supported by improved product quality, adherence to global safety and emission norms, and competitive pricing. Automakers are also leveraging India’s scale advantages and expanding supplier base to serve international demand.
Industry officials said investments in technology, localisation of components and model upgrades have enhanced the global appeal of Indian vehicles. Government support through export-linked incentives, infrastructure upgrades and faster port turnaround times has further strengthened the sector’s export momentum.
With multinational automakers using India as a strategic export base, the industry expects vehicle shipments abroad to remain on a strong growth trajectory, reinforcing India’s position in the global automotive value chain.
