Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Ltd., a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, has been conferred the prestigious ‘GeM Advocate’ Award at the 10th Foundation Day celebrations of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
The award was presented by Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, and received by Cmde Rajat Nagar, IN (Retd), CGM (Commercial), GRSE, on behalf of the shipyard.
The recognition honours GRSE’s sustained adoption of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) for procurement and its contribution towards promoting greater transparency, efficiency and digitalisation in the public procurement process.
Through the GeM platform, GRSE has strengthened its digital procurement practices, streamlined sourcing processes and supported the development of a more efficient and transparent procurement ecosystem.
Launched in 2016, GeM has emerged as a key digital platform for public procurement in India, enabling government organisations to procure goods and services through a transparent and technology-driven marketplace.
The ‘GeM Advocate’ Award recognises organisations that have demonstrated strong adoption of the platform and contributed to its wider utilisation across government procurement.
The award further underscores GRSE’s commitment to digital transformation, transparent procurement practices and operational efficiency in support of India’s defence shipbuilding ecosystem.
