GT LINES has announced the launch of a new standalone container service, India Sharjah Express (ISX), aimed at enhancing cargo connectivity between West India and the Gulf region. The service is scheduled to commence operations on 8 March 2026.
Designed to offer faster transit times, high schedule reliability and integrated last-mile delivery across the UAE, the ISX service will operate on a fixed 14-day rotation covering Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Khorfakkan, Sharjah, Hamriyah and Sohar. The service will be operated with vessels of 950 TEUs capacity, accommodating cargo loads of up to 19 tonnes per TEU.
According to the company, ISX will provide some of the fastest transit times on the West India–Northern Emirates trade lane, with sailings of six days from West India to the Northern Emirates and four days on the return leg.
A key highlight of the service is the first-ever direct container call at Hamriyah Container Terminal, which is expected to provide shippers direct access to the UAE’s second-largest free zone and its surrounding industrial clusters. The service will also offer intra-Gulf feeder connectivity through Khorfakkan and Sharjah, extending reach to additional regional markets.
GT LINES said the service is fully integrated with Gulftainer’s port terminals, bonded dry ports, logistics parks and trucking network, enabling end-to-end, carrier-controlled supply-chain solutions. Cargo arriving at Khorfakkan will benefit from a dedicated land-bridge, allowing final delivery across the UAE within 48 hours.
With the launch of ISX, GT LINES and Gulftainer aim to reinforce their presence in the India–Gulf trade corridor by offering a high-performance service focused on speed, reliability and seamless logistics integration.
