Chinese bulker owner and operator Jinhui Shipping and Transportation has offloaded one of its older supramaxes in its first sale in more than a year.

The Oslo- and Hong Kong-listed company is shipping out the 2007-built Jin Shun to Honk Kong incorporated Yuhe Shipping in a deal worth $8.26m.

The 53,350 dwt Chinese-built bulker, acquired from Greek owner AM Nomikos for $15.75m in October 2021, will be delivered to its new owner by May 31.

Jinhui has since last year mostly focused on fleet renewal through secondhand acquisitions and newbuilding orders, after clearing out some of its vintage supramaxes in 2023. Prior to this deal, the last ship it sold was the 2006-built 52,100 dwt Jin Sheng for $10.43m in December 2023.

The company’s fleet currently counts 34 bulkers, of which 26 are owned.
