Platforms such as LogiMAT India 2026 are expected to catalyse over 15 per cent, or nearly $7.5 billion, in bilateral logistics and investment growth between India and Germany over the next three years, according to the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) India.

Highlighting the strengthening economic partnership, bilateral trade between India and Germany crossed the $50 billion milestone in 2024–25, reflecting deepening cooperation across logistics, technology, and investment sectors.

As India and Germany recalibrate their economic engagement, LogiMAT India 2026, the world’s largest logistics exhibition making its presence felt in India, will bring together 43 German companies alongside leading global innovators from across the logistics and supply chain ecosystem.

“Germany is India’s largest trading partner in the European Union, and our logistics and technology partnership is entering a new era. Platforms like LogiMAT India can catalyse over 15 per cent ($7.5 billion) of bilateral logistics and investment growth in the next three years,” said Rajesh Nath, Managing Director, VDMA India.

With the Indian government’s strong push towards digitalisation and recent agreements in logistics and express services, Indo-German collaboration is expected to further accelerate supply chain excellence, industrial growth, and cross-border investments. “We anticipate accelerated collaboration in logistics and manufacturing, as the strong German presence at LogiMAT India 2026 will further drive innovation and investment in the sector,” Nath added.

VDMA, Europe’s largest industrial association, acts as a vital bridge between German and Indian industries, facilitating knowledge exchange across diverse industrial sectors.

Organised by Messe Stuttgart India, the three-day event will be held from February 5 to 7, 2026, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. The exhibition is expected to bring together industry leaders to network, explore new business opportunities, expand into emerging markets, and enhance brand visibility.

Germany accounts for over 25 per cent of India’s total trade with the European Union, underlining its role as a cornerstone of India’s European economic engagement. In 2024–25, India’s exports to Germany stood at $10.5 billion, while imports—largely machinery, electrical equipment, and precision instruments—reached $19 billion. Germany also ranks among India’s top ten global trading partners and is the ninth-largest foreign investor, with over $15 billion in FDI since 2000.

The broader EU remains India’s largest trading partner for goods, with bilateral trade touching $136.53 billion in 2024–25, accounting for 17 per cent of India’s total exports.

Commenting on the growing momentum, Gaurav Sood, CEO & Managing Director, Messe Stuttgart India, said, “The Indo-German partnership is entering a transformative phase, and nowhere is this more visible than at LogiMAT India 2026.”

The exhibition comes in the backdrop of two landmark agreements signed recently between India and Germany during the visit of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, aimed at deepening cooperation in postal, express, and logistics services.

LogiMAT India 2026 will showcase advancements in automation, warehousing technologies, multimodal logistics, ESG solutions, smart packaging, and AI-driven supply chain management, reinforcing its role as a catalyst for the next phase of Indo-German logistics collaboration.
