As India continues its march toward becoming a global economic powerhouse, LuLu Group India has unveiled an ambitious expansion plan to strengthen its presence across the country. The investment includes the development of shopping malls, logistics centres, and new hypermarkets, reinforcing the group’s long-term commitment to India’s retail and food processing sectors.

In a key development, Yusuffali M.A., Chairman of LuLu Group, signed a landmark agreement with N. Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, for a series of projects in the state. The agreement, signed during the 30th CII Partnership Summit held in Visakhapatnam in November 2025, includes:

    • A mega shopping mall in Visakhapatnam, expected to open in three years, which will create 5,000 direct jobs and 12,000 indirect employment opportunities.

    • A food sourcing and export centre in Vijayawada, focusing on processing and exporting mango pulp, guava pulp, and spices under the LuLu brand.

    • A food-processing logistics and export hub in Rayalaseema, enhancing the state’s agricultural value chain.

Speaking at the ceremony, Yusuffali emphasized that the Visakhapatnam mall would mark one of the largest retail developments in Andhra Pradesh. The food processing initiatives aim to support farmers, improve market access, and generate value-added products from the region.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu welcomed the investments, calling the Visakhapatnam mall the “Navaratna” among LuLu’s projects in India, and highlighted their potential contribution to the state’s economic development.

Outside Andhra Pradesh, LuLu has identified Chandkheda in Gujarat for a proposed shopping mall under the Gandhinagar parliamentary constituency. In Tamil Nadu, two hypermarkets are expected to be operational by mid-2026 in Chennai, while new hypermarkets and express stores are also being finalized in Bengaluru, Lucknow, Noida, and Gurugram, further strengthening LuLu’s pan-India footprint.

With these investments, LuLu Group aims to expand retail access, bolster food processing, and create significant employment opportunities, aligning with India’s broader economic growth objectives.
