Maruti Suzuki has crossed the milestone of exporting more than 1 lakh India-made vehicles to Japan, highlighting the growing acceptance of its locally manufactured models in one of the world’s most competitive automotive markets.

The milestone has been driven by the Jimny, Fronx and e VITARA, which are manufactured in India and exported to Japan. The achievement strengthens India’s position as an important production and export base for Suzuki’s global operations.

    Three Models Drive Exports

The Jimny has been a key model in Maruti Suzuki’s Japan export programme, while the Fronx has expanded the company’s presence in the compact SUV segment. The e VITARA adds an electric vehicle to the India-to-Japan export portfolio.

The exports demonstrate the ability of Indian manufacturing facilities to produce vehicles that meet the quality and technical requirements of the Japanese market.

India Gains Importance in Suzuki’s Global Network

The 1 lakh-unit milestone reinforces India’s growing role in Suzuki’s global manufacturing and supply chain strategy. Maruti Suzuki has steadily expanded its export footprint, with vehicles produced in India reaching markets across Asia, Africa, Latin America and other regions.

The latest milestone also highlights the potential for India to become an increasingly important hub for exports of both conventional and electric vehicles as automakers expand their global production networks.
