McCain Foods has entered into an agreement to acquire the frozen potato processing business of Falcon Agrifriz Foods in Gujarat, strengthening its manufacturing footprint in India and supporting its long-term expansion strategy. The proposed acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions.

Falcon Agrifriz operates a purpose-built potato processing facility in Gujarat, manufacturing a range of frozen potato products for domestic and export markets. The acquisition is expected to complement McCain Foods’ existing manufacturing operations in Mehsana, expanding its production network and creating a stronger platform for future growth.

India remains a priority growth market for McCain Foods, which has invested in local operations, workforce development and agricultural partnerships for nearly three decades. The expanded manufacturing base is expected to enhance the company’s ability to meet rising demand for frozen potato products across domestic and international markets.

“India continues to be a priority growth market for McCain Foods,” said Pierre Danet, Regional President, Asia Pacific and South Africa, McCain Foods. He said the acquisition reflects the company’s confidence in the Indian market and builds on its long-standing investments in local operations, people and agricultural partnerships.

Danet added that strengthening the manufacturing network would position the company to grow alongside its customers, potato growers and local communities over the long term.

The transaction further reinforces McCain Foods’ commitment to expanding its operational capabilities in India, with Gujarat continuing to play an important role in its potato processing activities. The additional manufacturing capacity is expected to support customer requirements, deepen engagement with potato growers and create opportunities to serve key export markets.

The acquisition marks another step in McCain Foods’ efforts to strengthen its presence in India’s frozen food sector while building a more extensive manufacturing network to support future demand.
