New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) has ushered in the New Year on a high note by achieving its highest-ever monthly cargo traffic in December 2025.

The port handled an impressive 5.44 million metric tonnes (MMT) of cargo during the month, surpassing its previous record of 4.7 MMT recorded in March 2025. This milestone underscores NMPA’s growing operational efficiency and strong collaboration across the port ecosystem.

The record performance is attributed to the dedicated efforts of NMPA employees, along with the continued support of port users, trade partners, and other stakeholders. Improved coordination, optimized infrastructure utilization, and sustained cargo demand contributed to the landmark achievement.

Buoyed by this momentum, New Mangalore Port Authority is moving ahead with renewed confidence toward achieving its ambitious annual target of 50 MMT, reinforcing its role as a key gateway port on India’s west coast.
