    The Hon’ble Minister, Smt. Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya, today visited the Container Freight Station (CFS) at Kandla operated by the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC), underscoring the Government’s continued focus on strengthening logistics infrastructure and enhancing trade facilitation.

    She was received by Shri Navukkarasu J., Regional Manager; Shri Dheeraj Sharma, DGM (Rail & EXIM); Shri Ishan Kathale, Manager, CFS; and Shri Vishal Singh, Administration Officer, CWC Ahmedabad Region, along with other senior officials of the Corporation.

    During her visit to the CFS at Kandla, the Hon’ble Minister reviewed the operational infrastructure, cargo handling systems and overall preparedness of the facility. CWC officials briefed her on the station’s functioning, coordination with trade stakeholders and measures implemented to enhance efficiency and ensure seamless cargo movement.

    Subsequently, the Hon’ble Minister visited the Railway Warehouse Complex (RWC) at Gandhidham. The Terminal Manager, Mr. Vikram Singh Gaur, provided an overview of the RWC’s integrated rail-linked operations, including rake handling, loading and unloading processes and coordinated logistics management. He highlighted how rail-based cargo movement contributes to reduced transit time, lower logistics costs and improved operational efficiency.

    On the occasion, the Hon’ble Minister was felicitated with a bouquet and shawl by Ms. Twinkle Tanwar, Chief Executive Officer, iWare Supplychain Services Ltd., and Mr. Vikas Tanwar, Director, in the presence of Mr. Krishna Tanwar, Managing Director. Representatives of M/s Abrar Forwarders and members of the local trade community were also present to extend their welcome.

    The Hon’ble Minister interacted with local importers, labourers and truck drivers to gain first-hand insights into operational processes and on-ground challenges. She acknowledged the crucial role played by logistics personnel in ensuring uninterrupted supply chain operations and supporting trade growth.

    In her address, she referred to the Prime Minister’s vision of strengthening India’s logistics backbone through infrastructure development, digital integration and policy reforms aimed at enhancing ease of doing business. Citing recent AI Summit discussions, she stressed the importance of technology adoption and innovation in improving efficiency, transparency and governance across sectors, including logistics and warehousing. She further emphasised that good governance and coordinated institutional efforts are essential to achieving sustainable economic growth.

    It was also announced during the programme that iWare Supplychain Services Ltd. has been awarded the role of SAMO by CWC and will soon commence full-scale operations at the CWC Kandla CFS, a development expected to further enhance operational capacity and service standards at the facility.

    The visit reflects the Government’s sustained commitment to strengthening trade facilitation mechanisms and upgrading logistics infrastructure in the region, reinforcing India’s position as a competitive and efficient global trading partner.
