In a meaningful step towards promoting inclusive education and social responsibility, the Northern India Steamer Agents Association (NISAA), under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, contributed four water dispensers along with essential educational materials to The Lepra India Trust.
The donation, comprising books, sheets, pens, and pencils, was aimed at enhancing the learning environment for children with special needs supported by the NGO. Based in Jasola Institutional Area, The Lepra India Trust is widely recognized for its dedicated work in providing inclusive and non-formal education to children with diverse disabilities, including hearing and communication challenges, autism, physical disabilities, visual impairment, and trauma-related conditions.
This initiative underscores NISAA’s commitment to fostering equitable access to educational resources while improving the overall well-being of children with special needs. By supporting both infrastructure and learning essentials, the association aims to empower children with greater dignity, confidence, and opportunities for holistic development.

The donation ceremony was attended by key NISAA office bearers, including President Sasi Nair, Vice President Ravi Kant Chauhan, Secretary Shridhar Subramaniam, and Executive Committee Members Gyan Abhishek and Manoj Pillai. Tanu Goswami and Gopal Rao joined them.
Representing The Lepra India Trust, Director Jayashree Jayaraman, along with her team, received the contribution and expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support.
Speaking on the occasion, the President of NISAA, Mr. Sasi Nair, highlighted the association’s philosophy of giving back to society. He noted that every child deserves access to a nurturing and inclusive learning environment and expressed hope that the initiative would positively impact the children’s daily lives and contribute to their journey towards independence.
Echoing similar sentiments, Jayashree Jayaraman appreciated the thoughtful contribution, stating that the donated resources would significantly enhance both comfort and learning outcomes for the children. She also commended NISAA for its commitment to inclusive education and social upliftment.
A special acknowledgment was extended to Tanu Goswami for her proactive role in identifying the vendor and negotiating favorable terms for the procurement of the water dispensers, ensuring the successful execution of the initiative.
Through this initiative, NISAA reinforces the growing role of industry associations in driving meaningful social impact, demonstrating how collaborative efforts can create lasting change in the lives of vulnerable communities.
