In a landmark development aimed at enhancing port infrastructure and operational efficiency, Paradip Port Authority (PPA) has signed a 30-year concession agreement with AM/NS Ports for the mechanization of the CQ-III berth. The project is designed to handle dry bulk cargo, marking a significant step toward modernized and sustainable cargo operations.

Under the agreement, the CQ-III berth will facilitate the shipment of iron ore pellets produced by AM/NS India through an advanced mechanized conveying system and state-of-the-art ship loader. The initiative is expected to boost berth productivity, streamline cargo handling, and support eco-friendly coastal operations.

The agreement was formalized by PPA’s Chief Engineer, Himanshu Sekhar Rout, and AM/NS Ports’ Subhakant Dash, in the presence of PPA Chairman PL Haranadh. Officials highlighted that the project will strengthen regional industrial growth and enhance the port’s logistics capabilities.

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways described the deal as a significant milestone in improving port efficiency and sustainability, underscoring India’s ongoing commitment to modernizing its maritime infrastructure.
