Slovenia’s Luka Koper – Port of Koper continues to reinforce its position among Europe’s leading ports through a comprehensive management system built around internationally recognized standards for quality, safety, environmental responsibility, and governance.
The port has integrated a wide range of global certifications into its operations, including ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 14001 and EMAS for environmental management, ISO 22000 for food safety, ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety, ISO 50001 for energy management, and ISO 37001 for anti-bribery management. These are complemented by specialized certifications and compliance frameworks such as GMP+ B3, NON GMO and ECO standards, Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status, ISCC EU certification, the SEVESO Directive, and the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
According to the port, this integrated management approach is designed to ensure consistent service quality, regulatory compliance, operational transparency, and secure cargo flows while delivering value to customers, logistics partners, employees, shareholders, and the wider community.
A recent milestone was the successful transition to the new ISO 37001:2025 anti-bribery management standard. The certification assessment was completed without any nonconformities being identified by the certification body, underscoring the port’s strong governance framework.
The audit highlighted robust transparency, traceability, and record-keeping practices, particularly in relation to gift management and business partner conduct. Recommendations for further enhancement included broader system harmonization, strengthened internal controls, and expanded risk-based training initiatives.
For Indian customers and trade partners, the certification achievement reinforces Port of Koper’s commitment not only to infrastructure development and efficient logistics services but also to accountability, integrity, and long-term trust throughout the supply chain.
In India, Port of Koper is represented by Samsara Group as its strategic business partner.
