PSA Singapore (PSA) has marked a significant milestone, handling 10 million TEUs at Tuas Port since the commencement of operations in September 2022.

Tuas Port, the world’s largest fully automated container terminal, was designed to meet the increasing needs of international shipping, aiming to enhance Singapore’s position as a leading transshipment hub.

The port’s automated systems are a key feature in PSA’s strategy. These systems reportedly allow for more streamlined operations, contributing to faster processing times for ships and containers.

Additionally, the port’s focus on scalability is intended to ensure its ability to handle future growth in global trade.

PSA’s Group CEO, Ong Kim Pong, stated that the port is “a vital node in PSA’s global network” and is well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of the supply chain industry.

He emphasised that the port’s size, capacity, and technological advancements ensure long-term capacity assurance for customers.

In 2024, PSA achieved a record by handling over 40 million TEUs, exceeding the previous annual high of 38.8 million TEUs set in 2023.
