Russia’s freight and logistics market is projected to grow by 13%, reaching an estimated US$86 billion by 2031, driven by rising domestic trade, infrastructure investments, and continued expansion of multimodal transport networks. The forecast highlights the sector’s resilience despite ongoing geopolitical and economic challenges.

Growth is expected to be supported by increased demand for road, rail, maritime, and air freight services, alongside the rapid development of warehousing, cold chain logistics, and e-commerce distribution. Investments in transport corridors, port infrastructure, and digital logistics solutions are also anticipated to improve supply chain efficiency and strengthen cargo movement across the country.

Russia’s strategic position connecting Europe and Asia continues to support its role in regional trade, with logistics providers focusing on alternative trade routes and expanding links with markets in Asia, the Middle East, and other emerging economies. The diversification of supply chains and greater use of technology are expected to further enhance operational efficiency.

Industry analysts believe the projected growth reflects sustained demand for logistics services and ongoing modernization efforts, positioning Russia’s freight and logistics sector for steady expansion through 2031 while supporting the country’s long-term trade and industrial objectives.
