Saudia Cargo has expanded its international freighter network with the launch of a scheduled Dhaka–Frankfurt cargo service, strengthening direct air freight connectivity between Bangladesh and Europe. The new route began operations on August 14, 2026, with flights scheduled twice a week.

The new service connects Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) with Frankfurt Airport (FRA), one of Europe’s major cargo and logistics hubs. The direct link is designed to improve transit times and provide more reliable capacity for freight moving between South Asian manufacturing centres and European markets.

Bangladesh is a major export and manufacturing hub, particularly for ready-made garments, textiles and other time-sensitive products. The new freighter connection is expected to support these industries while also providing capacity for pharmaceuticals, industrial equipment, perishables and e-commerce shipments.

For freight forwarders and logistics companies, the twice-weekly service offers an additional direct routing option between Bangladesh and Europe. Frankfurt’s extensive road, rail and air cargo connections also provide onward access to major European consumer and industrial markets.

The route forms part of Saudia Cargo’s broader strategy to expand its global network and strengthen its dedicated freighter operations. The carrier transported more than 570,000 tonnes of cargo across over 90 destinations in 2025, reflecting continued growth in its international cargo business.

Saudia Cargo is also expanding its dedicated fleet. In July, the carrier announced an agreement to add four Boeing 777-200 freighters, with the first aircraft scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2026 and the remaining aircraft arriving during 2027. The additional capacity is intended to support the company’s network expansion and rising international cargo demand.

The Dhaka–Frankfurt service therefore strengthens an important Bangladesh–Europe air cargo corridor, offering exporters greater access to European markets while giving freight forwarders another option for moving high-value and time-sensitive cargo between the two regions.
