In a significant recognition for the export industry, Dr. A. Sakthivel, Founder Chairman of the Tiruppur Exporters’ Association, has been appointed as a Member of the High-Powered Committee on Education to Employment and Enterprise constituted by NITI Aayog.

The appointment is being widely celebrated as a moment of pride not only for the Association but also for Tiruppur, often regarded as the knitwear capital of India, and the broader export community.

Dr. Sakthivel’s inclusion in the committee is seen as a testament to his more than 45 years of dedicated service to both industry and society. His longstanding contributions have played a pivotal role in shaping the growth of the textile export sector in the region.

Industry voices have also highlighted the importance of this development in addressing one of the key challenges facing India’s growth trajectory — bridging the gap between academia and industry. Stakeholders believe that Dr. Sakthivel’s experience and leadership will contribute meaningfully toward aligning educational outcomes with industry requirements.

His appointment is expected to foster stronger collaboration between educational institutions and the industrial sector, paving the way for improved employment opportunities and entrepreneurial growth in the country.
