Valenciaport delivered one of its strongest monthly performances on record in March, with container traffic rising 11.6% year on year.
The Spanish port authority said the increase helped make March its second-best month ever, reflecting continued strength in trade flows and improved cargo activity across key shipping routes.
Growth was supported by higher import-export volumes, transshipment activity, and resilient demand from industrial and consumer supply chains.
Industry observers note that the strong performance highlights Valenciaport’s importance as a major Mediterranean gateway connecting Europe with Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
The rise in container throughput also suggests improving confidence among carriers and shippers despite ongoing uncertainty in parts of the global logistics market.
Port officials are expected to continue investing in capacity, efficiency, and sustainability initiatives as volumes remain on a positive trajectory.
