    Balmer Lawrie & Co. Ltd., a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, has announced a key leadership change at the Board level. Mr. Romon Sebastian Louis has assumed charge as Director (Service Businesses) with effect from August 22, 2025.

    In his new role, Mr. Louis will oversee the company’s Logistics businesses—including Infrastructure, Services, and Cold Chain—along with its Travel & Vacations vertical. He succeeds his previous position as Executive Director (Logistics Infrastructure & Cold Chain), where he was credited with strengthening Balmer Lawrie’s logistics portfolio and expanding its service offerings in line with evolving market dynamics.

    With nearly three decades of association with Balmer Lawrie, having joined the organisation in 1998 at Chennai, Mr. Louis brings with him a wealth of experience and proven leadership. A Postgraduate in Marketing & Sales Management and a Commerce graduate, he has consistently delivered exceptional results across multiple roles during his 30-year career. His expertise lies in logistics infrastructure, where he has been instrumental in shaping strategic direction, driving operational efficiency, and building sustainable growth models.

    Mr. Louis is widely recognised for his focus on innovation, customer-centric approach, and commitment to delivering value-driven solutions for stakeholders. His leadership has played a significant role in strengthening Balmer Lawrie’s positioning as a trusted logistics and travel solutions provider in India.

    Apart from his new Board responsibilities, Mr. Louis also serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Visakhapatnam Port Logistics Park Limited, a subsidiary of Balmer Lawrie, where he contributes to advancing the Group’s strategic initiatives in port-based logistics and infrastructure development.

    With this appointment, Balmer Lawrie has reinforced its focus on strengthening its service businesses to meet the growing demands of the logistics and travel sectors, while continuing to deliver on its vision of sustainable and customer-driven growth.
