The Cochin Chamber of Commerce & Industry, in collaboration with the Tax Policy Research Unit (TPRU), Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, successfully organized an Outreach Program on the World Bank’s Business Ready (B-Ready) Initiative at Hotel Radisson Blu, Cochin.
The session began with a Welcome Address by Shri. S.P. Kamath, President of the Chamber, followed by an address from Dr. Jivisha Joshi Gangopadhyay, IRTS, Deputy Secretary (Logistics), DPIIT, who set the tone for the deliberations. Shri. Abhishek Tripathy, IRS, Joint Commissioner, TPRU, elaborated on the objectives of the initiative, paving the way for a detailed presentation by Ms. Katyayani Sanjay Bhatia, IRS, Deputy Commissioner, TPRU, on the framework’s components and its significance in shaping India’s evolving business ecosystem.
An interactive session provided industry stakeholders with the opportunity to raise concerns and share valuable suggestions, which were addressed by the speakers with thoughtful responses and assurances for policy consideration.
The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Vinodini Sukumar, Vice President of the Chamber, who expressed gratitude to the distinguished speakers, participants, and sponsors — PSN Group, Caravan Resources, and Teamone Advertising — for their invaluable support.
This initiative reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to fostering constructive dialogue and supporting India’s efforts to align its regulatory framework with global best practices.
