DP World has introduced a new carbon inset initiative, ‘Insetify’, aimed at helping ocean freight forwarding customers reduce Scope 3 emissions across key European markets.

The trial, rolled out in Belgium, Portugal and Sweden, will come into effect from April 1. Under the programme, importers and exporters using DP World’s ocean freight forwarding services in these countries will receive carbon credits equivalent to 100 kg of CO₂e per TEU of containerised cargo shipped per quarter, once a minimum threshold of 25 TEUs per quarter is met.

The initiative is designed to provide immediate and measurable emissions reductions within customers’ supply chains, addressing the growing demand for sustainable logistics solutions.

Insetify builds on DP World’s existing Carbon Inset Programme in the UK, launched in January 2025. The UK programme has already recorded over 250,000 TEUs and issued more than 9,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO₂e) in carbon inset credits.

With this expansion, DP World continues to strengthen its commitment to decarbonising global trade while supporting customers in achieving their environmental targets.
