State-owned logistics major Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) has taken another step towards sustainable and efficient cargo handling with the commissioning of two new electric reach stackers at its CFS/DRT terminal.
The equipment was inaugurated during a site visit by CONCOR Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Swarup, accompanied by Director (International Marketing & Operations) Vijoy Kumar Singh and senior officials from the corporate office.
During the visit, the management team reviewed ongoing infrastructure development projects at the terminal, including the construction of a new rail line aimed at enhancing multimodal connectivity and improving operational efficiency. The rail expansion is expected to strengthen cargo movement capabilities and support increased freight volumes through rail-based logistics.
The commissioning of electric reach stackers aligns with CONCOR’s broader sustainability agenda, focused on reducing carbon emissions, improving energy efficiency, and promoting environmentally responsible cargo handling operations. The company continues to invest in cleaner technologies and rail-led freight transportation as part of its efforts to build a future-ready logistics network.
CONCOR said the initiatives underscore its commitment to advancing sustainable logistics solutions while supporting India’s growing trade and supply chain requirements through efficient, customer-centric operations.
