Hapag-Lloyd and Maersk have revised their jointly operated Tango service by removing the port call at Salvador, Brazil, as part of an effort to optimise the service network and improve schedule reliability across the trade route.
The updated rotation is intended to streamline vessel operations, reduce transit time variability and enhance on-time performance amid evolving market conditions. Customers shipping cargo to and from Salvador will be served through alternative port connections within the carriers’ regional network.
The Tango service forms part of the carriers’ broader cooperation to strengthen network efficiency and deliver more reliable container shipping services. The revised port rotation is expected to improve vessel utilisation while maintaining connectivity to key markets across the region.
Hapag-Lloyd and Maersk said the changes were made following a review of operational requirements and customer demand. The carriers will continue to monitor cargo flows and adjust service offerings to meet evolving trade patterns and optimise network performance.
Industry observers noted that regular service adjustments have become increasingly common as container lines respond to shifting cargo volumes, port congestion and operational challenges. The latest revision is expected to support more consistent sailing schedules while preserving regional coverage through alternative routing options.
