FedEx has reached a major milestone in pharmaceutical logistics by securing its 30th IATA CEIV Pharma certification across its global air hubs and cargo-handling facilities. The certification strengthens FedEx’s position among global transportation providers with extensive networks accredited for pharmaceutical handling.
The IATA CEIV Pharma certification recognises facilities and processes that meet stringent standards for the safe and compliant handling of time-sensitive and temperature-controlled pharmaceutical shipments. It covers areas including operational processes, equipment, staff capabilities and regulatory compliance.
FedEx said the milestone reflects the capabilities of its dedicated FedEx Life Sciences organisation, which supports the movement of critical healthcare shipments requiring specialised handling and temperature control. The company launched the organisation in July 2026 to strengthen its global healthcare logistics offering.
IATA Global Head of Cargo Brendan Sullivan said the pharmaceutical industry relies on air transport to move medicines and therapies that require strict temperature control and timely delivery, welcoming FedEx’s continued expansion of its certified network.
FedEx said it will continue expanding its healthcare logistics capabilities, with quality and compliance remaining central to the development of its global life sciences network.
