d’Amico International Shipping has brought its final leased tanker back into its own fleet, completing the company’s process of returning the vessel to in-house operations.

The move gives d’Amico greater control over its tanker fleet and commercial deployment, allowing the company to manage vessel operations directly rather than relying on a third-party lease arrangement.

The return comes as tanker owners continue to assess fleet composition, chartering strategies and vessel utilisation amid changing freight-market conditions. Bringing leased tonnage back under direct management can provide operators with greater flexibility in deploying ships across different trades.

The company’s tanker fleet serves international markets, transporting refined petroleum products and other liquid cargoes. Fleet management decisions are increasingly influenced by vessel age, operating efficiency, freight rates and expectations for future demand.

The return of the final leased tanker also simplifies d’Amico’s fleet structure and marks the completion of its current leasing strategy for the vessel.

The company is expected to continue monitoring tanker-market conditions as it evaluates fleet deployment and future investment opportunities. Stronger direct control of its vessels could allow d’Amico to respond more quickly to changes in chartering demand and trading patterns.
