WAN HAI 902, a new-generation container vessel operated by Wan Hai Lines, has made its maiden call at Jeddah Islamic Port, marking a milestone in the shipping line’s Far East–Mediterranean service.

The 275-metre-long vessel has a carrying capacity of 8,786 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units). It is the first newbuild in the 8,700-TEU class to join Wan Hai Lines’ weekly service connecting the Far East with the Mediterranean.

Operational collaboration with Wan Hai Lines supports the service through coordinated vessel berthing and container-handling operations at Jeddah Islamic Port, helping facilitate efficient vessel turnaround and cargo movement.

The maiden call highlights the continued deployment of modern container tonnage on key international trade routes and reinforces Jeddah Islamic Port’s role in supporting container shipping services linking Asia and the Mediterranean region.

The port’s operations team and all stakeholders involved were acknowledged for their contribution to the successful call. Jeddah Islamic Port looks forward to welcoming WAN HAI 902 on future visits.
