French container line CMA CGM will launch a new Asia Subcontinent Express 2 (AS2) service in the next month.

The new weekly service will connect major Asian ports with the Indian Subcontinent and will commence on 3 December from the port of Shanghai.

The port rotation of the new service will be Shanghai (China) – Ningbo (China) – Shekou (China) – Singapore – Colombo (Sri Lanka) – Mundra (India) – Nhava Sheva (India) – Singapore – Shanghai.

The first container ship that will be deployed on the service will be the 6,350 TEU, 2008-built APL Minnesota.

The Marseille-based shipping company said the new service will be connected with CMA CGM’s network from Southeast Asia via Singapore to India Subcontinent ports.
