The first trial run of empty coal wagons was carried out on the railway track that was affected due to the derailment of a goods wagon. The track between Sonalim and Dudhsagar railway stations in the Braganza Ghat section of Hubballi was restored on Monday evening, four days after the incident.

“SWR has restored the services from the affected portion of the railway tracks, and the first trial run was held successfully at 6pm on Monday.

The passenger train services will resume from Tuesday, only after considering all the safety aspects and getting the approval of the technical and engineering departments of the South Western Railway (SWR),” said sources in SWR.
