NMDC Steel Limited (NSL) celebrated a pivotal milestone on August 20 by producing its 1 Million Ton (MnT) of Hot Rolled Coil (HRC). This achievement comes just days before the one-year anniversary of the plant’s HR Coil production commencement, highlighting NSL’s rapid production efficiency. Earlier milestones include producing 1.5 MnT of Hot Metal from its Blast Furnace on July 21, 2024, and 1 MnT of Liquid Steel from the Steel Making Shop (SMS) on August 11, 2024, both within a year of starting production.
NSL’s recent successes underscore its commitment to excellence and innovation in the steel manufacturing sector. The company’s 3 Million Tons Per Annum (MTPA) ultra-modern plant, built with an investment of Rs. 22,900 crore, houses one of India’s widest Hot Strip Mills. This facility can roll HR coils ranging from 900 mm to 1650 mm in width and 1 mm to 16 mm in thickness.
