DP World has announced an expansion of its specialist logistics service offering for customers in the retail and chemical sectors.

The company already has expertise in chemicals through its subsidiary, Legend Logistics, a Singapore-based global logistics firm and it will now continue to expand this capability globally to serve the $4.2 trillion international chemicals industry.

DP World is already anticipating future challenges and opportunities, such as the need for more sustainable logistics solutions and expanding service reach to new emerging markets.

The company is also growing its retail sector solutions, adding greater ocean and air freight, cold chain logistics and warehousing capacity. DP World’s Hong-Kong-based subsidiary Cargo Services Far East, and its sister company CN Logistics, reportedly gives DP World the tools to cater for customers in the retail and high-end fashion sectors.

This includes not only expertise and technology but also comprehensive Purchase Order (PO) management capabilities.

Beat Simon, Group Chief Commercial Officer, Logistics, DP World, said: “We are adding fresh impetus to our mission to lead global trade into a more resilient and efficient future.

“With the addition of new expertise, we enhance our ability to provide an unparalleled service to our customers worldwide, and especially those seeking to access specialised services in two diverse, but fast-evolving sectors in global trade: chemicals and retail.

“Under this expanded offer, we will give our chemicals customers the confidence and capabilities to expand into new markets worldwide, safe in the knowledge that we are unlocking new energy solutions and operating processes to track, measure and reduce environmental impact.”

Just recently, DP World CARGOES partnered with Fluent Cargo to offer Easy Shipping Tracking to its customers.
