Air France-KLM reported stronger second-quarter performance as reduced air cargo capacity through the Middle East and sustained demand for high-value technology shipments supported higher yields and improved freight revenues. The airline group benefited from tighter market conditions, which strengthened pricing power across key international cargo routes.

Capacity reductions by several Middle Eastern carriers, driven by operational disruptions and network adjustments, created a supply-demand imbalance in the global air freight market. The resulting shortage of available cargo space enabled Air France-KLM to capture additional volumes, particularly on Europe–Asia and transcontinental trade lanes.

Demand for high-tech products, including semiconductors, electronics, telecommunications equipment, and other time-sensitive cargo, remained robust during the quarter. These shipments, which require reliable and rapid transportation, contributed to higher aircraft load factors and stronger cargo yields despite broader economic uncertainties.

Air France-KLM continued to leverage its extensive passenger and freighter network to serve key manufacturing and technology hubs across Europe, Asia, and North America. The group also maintained its focus on operational efficiency, digital cargo solutions, and premium logistics services to strengthen its competitive position in the evolving air freight market.

Industry analysts expect air cargo market conditions to remain relatively firm in the near term as geopolitical developments, constrained capacity, and resilient demand for high-value goods continue to support freight rates. Air France-KLM is expected to benefit from these trends while continuing to invest in network optimization and customer-focused cargo services to sustain growth in the coming quarters.
