Akkon Lines has launched a new container shipping service connecting Türkiye with Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, strengthening maritime connectivity between the Eastern Mediterranean and the Red Sea. The new service is designed to support growing regional trade by providing customers with reliable and efficient container transportation.
The Türkiye–Jeddah route will facilitate the movement of a wide range of cargo, including industrial products, textiles, machinery, chemicals, food items, and consumer goods. Regular sailings are expected to improve schedule reliability, reduce transit times, and offer greater supply chain flexibility for exporters and importers serving the corridor.
The service expansion forms part of Akkon Lines’ strategy to broaden its regional network and enhance its presence across key trade lanes linking Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. By adding Jeddah to its service portfolio, the carrier aims to strengthen access to one of the region’s busiest commercial gateways and improve cargo connectivity for customers.
The launch comes amid increasing trade activity between Türkiye and Gulf countries, driven by rising demand for manufactured goods, construction materials, and consumer products. Shipping companies continue to expand regional services to meet evolving customer requirements and capitalize on growing cargo volumes across the Middle East.
Industry observers believe the new Türkiye–Jeddah service will provide additional shipping capacity and improve regional logistics efficiency, supporting stronger trade flows and reinforcing maritime links between Türkiye and Saudi Arabia.
