ATC has successfully executed its first dedicated Nepal-bound New Modified Goods (NMG) rake, transporting 100 Mahindra tractors from Nagpur to Raxaul on the India–Nepal border. The rake departed on 23 July 2026, with the entire end-to-end movement managed by the ATC team.

The operation marks a significant milestone in ATC’s cross-border multimodal logistics capabilities, establishing a new rail corridor for automotive cargo between India and Nepal. The achievement builds on the company’s proven expertise in cross-border rail logistics, having previously handled 23 NMG rakes for Bangladesh.

The successful execution underscores the growing role of rail-based multimodal transportation in facilitating regional trade while offering an efficient and reliable logistics solution for automotive exports to neighbouring countries.

ATC attributed the successful completion of the project to the trust placed in the company by Mahindra & Mahindra, the dedication of its operations team, and the support extended by Indian Railways in facilitating the movement of the specially designed NMG rake.

Commenting on the milestone, the company said the successful movement reinforces ATC’s commitment to delivering reliable, compliant and efficient multimodal logistics solutions that enhance regional trade connectivity and address the evolving logistics requirements of the automotive industry.

The company also acknowledged the contribution of all stakeholders involved in making the first Nepal-bound dedicated NMG rake movement a success, highlighting the collaborative efforts that enabled the seamless execution of the cross-border operation.
