In a significant achievement for India’s maritime sector, the Chennai Port Authority has secured the 1st Rank in the Logistics Port Performance Index (LPPI) 2024-25 under the Dry Bulk Cargo (less than 5 Million Tonnes) category.
The prestigious recognition highlights the port’s outstanding performance in operational efficiency, cargo handling, turnaround time, transparency, and service delivery. The achievement underscores Chennai Port’s continued efforts to enhance logistics competitiveness and strengthen its position as a key gateway for India’s trade and commerce.
Port officials attributed the success to the collective efforts of employees, terminal operators, stevedores, shipping lines, cargo agents, and other stakeholders who have played a crucial role in improving operational standards and ensuring seamless cargo movement.
