The meeting was led by Susanta Kumar Purohit, along with Rajesh Soundararajan and senior officials of the port authority. Discussions focused on port-led sustainable development, the adoption of innovative green technologies, and strengthening infrastructure resilience to support future growth.

During the session, VOCPA presented its ongoing Green and Digital Initiatives, showcasing measures aimed at enhancing sustainability, operational efficiency, and technological transformation across port operations. The initiatives highlighted the port’s commitment to reducing environmental impact while improving productivity and service delivery.

The interaction provided a platform for exchanging global perspectives and best practices on accelerating the transition towards greener maritime infrastructure. Key areas of discussion included sustainable industrial development, climate-resilient port ecosystems, digital innovation, and the integration of environmentally conscious practices into long-term port planning.

Port officials noted that such engagements are vital for fostering collaboration, encouraging innovation, and aligning with global sustainability goals. The discussions also underscored the growing importance of ports as catalysts for economic growth while balancing environmental stewardship.

The session reaffirmed VOCPA’s vision of positioning itself as a leading model for sustainable, technologically advanced, and future-ready port development, supporting India’s broader maritime and green growth ambitions.
