    CNH India plans to invest ₹2,000 crore in the country through 2030 and double its tractor manufacturing capacity to 1.4 lakh units, strengthening India’s role as a global manufacturing and export hub.

    The company currently exports more than 11,000 tractors annually to markets including the US, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. CNH India President and Managing Director Narinder Mittal said the company sees significant potential to expand exports of utility, light and compact tractors, supported by growing manufacturing and R&D capabilities.

    Of the planned investment, ₹1,000 crore will be allocated to research and development and product development, with a focus on precision agriculture, connected equipment, fuel efficiency and data-driven farming technologies.

    CNH’s Pune facility also manufactures sugarcane harvesters, combines and balers for domestic and international markets. The company expects India’s tractor industry, currently the world’s largest at around 1.1 million units annually, to grow by 4-5% CAGR over the long term.

    While CNH remains positive on the sector’s structural growth, it expects near-term demand to be influenced by monsoon conditions, rural incomes, crop realisations and financing availability. Mittal said these factors may affect the short-term trajectory but would not alter the underlying need for greater farm mechanisation.
