The Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) has stepped up efforts to expand warehousing infrastructure in Kerala and advance the proposed Multi Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) at Vizhinjam.
Shri Nirmal B, Executive Director (Commercial), CWC, along with Shri Maneesh B R, Senior General Manager (New Business), CWC, and Shri Sundara Moorthi G S R, Regional Manager, CWC Regional Office Kochi, held discussions with senior officials of the Kerala Government and Vizhinjam International Seaport Limited (VISL).
The CWC delegation met Shri APM Mohammed Hanish IAS, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries), Dr Rathan U Kelkar IAS, Secretary (Ports), and Shri Geromic George IAS, Managing Director, VISL.
The discussions focused on identifying and acquiring suitable land for the development of warehouses at strategic locations across Kerala. The officials also reviewed steps to accelerate the proposed VISL Multi Modal Logistics Park at Vizhinjam.
The proposed MMLP is expected to strengthen the logistics ecosystem around Vizhinjam International Seaport by integrating port operations with warehousing, transportation and other logistics services. Such infrastructure could support efficient cargo movement between the port and hinterland markets while improving supply-chain connectivity.
CWC’s engagement with the Kerala Government and VISL signals a move towards strengthening the state’s warehousing and multimodal logistics infrastructure, particularly around the emerging Vizhinjam port hub.
